From Bach’s amazing organ skills to Liszt’s reputation as a dazzling (perhaps a little bit show-offy) pianist, there is a long tradition of composers also being performers.
I will be attempting to join this tradition as I play my Solo Piano Suite as part of the Sound and Fury Concerts this Sunday, which is themed “Composer as Performer”.
I will be performing my own composition alongside other fantastic composer/performers including Christian Dubeau, Christine Lee, and cellist Shannon Hayden. It should be a wonderful set and will be in the beautiful Pasadena Lineage Performing Arts Center.
I am really excited about this concert, as well as the concept, so I really hope you can make it to this fun event.
